  THE PAINTED PIANO
Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design Project

Throughout July, 2011

As part of the Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design Project, eleven kids from the Boys and Girls Club were invited to Just Imajan Studio to paint a piano.  Supervised by Janet Armstrong, the kids painted the piano's sides and bottom.  Then Janet painted the piano's top and finished up the unusual objet d'art by incorporating sheet music into the painting, as well as prairie barbwire around the front of the piano.  The finished piano now sits on the veranda at the Home Quarter Pie Shop in Cochrane, and is availble for everyone to play and enjoy.  The project was organized by two Mount Royal University criminal justice students.
